Microsoft said in a press conference at 2/24 that they will stop producing Xbox 360 HD DVD layers. That day marks the fifth day after Toshiba surrendered to Sony. Microsoft was one of the core company that has been supporting HD DVD. Blair Westlake, vice chairman of Microsoft Media Entertainment Group, said “We will stop making Xbox HD DVD player.” However, he also added that “We will continue are technical support for the HD DVD player that is already sold”. Ms has been selling Xbox HD DVD player, in resistance to PS3’s Bluray Player. This HD DVD player has been sold approximately 300000 units worldwide. As Walmart, Walt Disney, Best Buy, and many other major retailers and movie companies support Blu Ray, HD DVD’s lead company, Toshiba officially surrendered(?!) to Sony’s Bluray.
